Does Adderall cause ED?

Answer:

Yes. Erectile dysfunction is a well-known side effect in men taking Adderall, mainly because the medication causes constriction of certain blood vessels in the body, directing blood away from the extremities and increasing the blood supply to other parts of the body, which means that there is a decrease in blood flow to the penis. However, this is temporary. Typically, once the effects of the medication have worn away, sexual desire and performance return to what was expected.

Please consult with your doctor. He may change the Adderall dose or replace it with another medication that is unlikely to affect your sexual life. Alternatively, he may offer one of the oral ED medications (like Viagra or Cialis).

Can infertility issue be due to erectile Dysfunction?

Answer:

Any trouble with having healthy or normal sexual intercourse can lead to infertility, this includes trouble keeping or maintaining an erection sufficient for sex (ED). So, yes severe ED can contribute to male infertility and both conditions are considered proxies for general health, the former often underlying cardiovascular disorders and the latter other conditions. So erectile dysfunction in infertile men might be an early marker of poor general health as well.

Does using shockwave therapy help treat ED?

Answer:

Shockwave therapy for ED is still considered an experimental treatment option. Generally, we recommend using low-intensity shockwave therapy in mild organic erectile dysfunction patients or those who do not respond well to medication (Viagra, Cialis,…) or do not want more invasive treatments.
Research suggests that men with vasculogenic ED are among the ideal candidates for shockwave therapy and are the ones to see actual results; on the other hand, It did not help men with severe erectile dysfunction resulting from diabetes or those who had undergone prostatectomy, cystectomy, or radiation.
Research is still ongoing to determine how well Shockwave therapy for ED works long-term and whether it can be used with other proven ED treatments.

The simple answer is yes.

Although casual weed-smoking hasn’t been linked to ED and actually it may even help increase sexual desire and arousal, some studies found that daily weed-smoking (overuse) may contribute to ED and can lead to trouble achieving orgasm in some men.

Erectile dysfunction could be due to many underlying causes, and for the best treatment option, we need first to identify the cause. Therefore, I suggest that your boyfriend first checks with his doctor for a checkup and evaluation. Also, he needs to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly, eating healthy food (low cholesterol), and stopping or avoiding alcohol and tobacco as they both contribute to ED.

Treatment of ED depends on the cause and may differ from patient to patient based on their overall health and medication they might be taking for chronic health issues.

At first, your doctor will perform a physical exam and take your medical history to diagnose erectile dysfunction, and then recommend a treatment. But if you have chronic health conditions or an underlying condition that might be involved with ED, then you might need some more tests.

The treatment options:

• Regular physical activity: moderate to vigorous aerobic activities can improve erectile dysfunction. Staying active might also reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction in the first place. Moreover, An active lifestyle helps in losing any extra weight (which can act as an underlying cause for ED)
• In cases where ED is caused by stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship tension, psychological counseling can be very helpful.
• Oral medications. Different types of oral medication can be used for the treatment of ED. Your doctor will determine the best choice for your particular situation. These medications include Sildenafil (Viagra), Tadalafil (Adcirca, Cialis), Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn), and Avanafil (Stendra)
• Alprostadil injection. This is a self-injection option where you use a fine needle to inject alprostadil (Caverject, Edex) into your penis. these injections include Bimix (combination of 2 medications), and Trimix (combination of 3 medications
• Alprostadil urethral suppository. This includes putting alprostadil suppository (Muse) inside your penis through the penile urethra
• Testosterone replacement therapy can be used alone or in combination with other therapies when erectile dysfunction is associated with low levels of the hormone testosterone

The role of caffeine on erectile function remains unclear. One study found that long-term coffee intake was not associated with any risk of ED.
