Generic Viagra Teva’s Sildenafil Citrate Available in US December 2017

Teva Pharmaceutical Company located in Pennsylvania, United States, will be adding the drug sildenafil citrate to its list of hundreds of other generic drugs. The FDA has approved this drug, which is a first-ever generic type of Viagra intended to cure erectile dysfunction in male. The Company told CBS News the drug would be available in the market as of December 11, 2017.

The Sildenafil citrate tablets, which still sell under the brand name Viagra, will come in three strengths similar to Viagra; 100 mg, 50 mg, and 25 mg. The drug will be sold in pharmacies, but you can also access it online. The Sildenafil citrate tablet is taken when needed–there is no regular outlined schedule, and a person shouldn’t take more than one pill in a day.

With the number of sales estimated at $4.3 billion in the global market, the erectile dysfunction medication is a major business as reported in 2012. It has exclusive justifications to generic sildenafil citrate for 180 days, as Teva said.

Erectile dysfunction or impotence is when a man is unable to achieve and maintain an erection in preparation for sex. There have been numerous psychological and physical causes, and although experiencing occasional erection trouble might be normal, according to Mayo Clinic experts, if the situation persists then it could be a sign of underlying health condition. The situation could also be an alarm of a heart disease and the need for treatment is undeniable.

Some of the risk factors associated with erectile dysfunction are age, being overweight, tobacco use, some treatments and other mental health conditions, drug and alcohol use, stress and medications such as antidepressants and high blood pressure drugs.

According to a report from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health researchers, more than 18 million men above the age of 20 suffer erectile dysfunction in the United States

2,200 Deaths Linked to Viagra and Other Erectile Dysfunction Drugs Heart Disease and Cardiac Failure

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) drugs may lead to deaths among those so quick to solve this problem. Researchers from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have been able to link 2200 deaths to ED drugs in the ten years between 2000 and 2010. Because the number of American men using the drugs is very hard to narrow down, the number should not be a cause for a scare. The discussion is about whether erectile dysfunction is a result of heart conditions or other diseases whose surety is yet to be confirmed. However, the evidence is getting more convincing that ED drugs could be the cause of such deaths.

The FDA does not disapprove of all ED medication, conceding that there are safe medicines out there. However, all men aged thirty, and above should undergo a cardiac risk assessment just to be safe. Cardiac health and sexual disorders may be more closely linked than we thought.

Multiple studies have shown that men with erectile dysfunction have a greater chance of dying from heart problems than those who do not. A male with erectile dysfunction should be tested for heart disease and one with ED and symptoms of a cardiac disorder should make significant changes to his lifestyle. Guidelines meant to improve the use of ED drugs are being formulated and distributed to healthcare providers.

Any ED drug manufacturer did not sponsor the study to determine adverse effects of ED drugs on men for the ten year period. The number of reports of the harmful effects of ED drugs in men was more than ten times the number of deaths stated. On the contrary, it is very difficult to prove a direct link between the deaths and the drugs. There is also the problem of discerning if the effects were as a result of genuine or counterfeit drugs. Men are advised to acquire prescriptions from their doctors and not any other source. The patient is entirely responsible for failure to do so.

Viagra Also Help Men with Diabetes and Benefits Heart Health

It may come as a shock to many that Viagra may be an ingredient in the fight against heart disease and diabetes. Diabetes is on the rise, and 10% of Americans are being diagnosed with Diabetes every year. Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of the disease there is. A person with Type 2 Diabetes either does not produce enough insulin or their body is unable to utilize the amount of insulin they already have efficiently. Diabetes leads to high blood sugar (glucose levels). High glucose levels are the major contributors to cardiovascular diseases.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is closely linked with heart diseases. Research is being done to determine how to reduce the risk of heart disorders in men with either erectile dysfunction or Type 2 Diabetes. Prof. Andrew Trafford, from the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Manchester, discovered in their findings that men using Viagra had a 30% chance of lowering risk of heart disease for about seven years after starting to use the drug. The drug is especially effective in men with a history of cardiovascular diseases.

It was shown by the fact that the men had lower number of heart attacks. And of those who had heart attacks, a larger number of those who used Viagra survived than those who did not use the drug.

The conclusions from this investigation are by no means definitive. However, they do make a statement that calls for more research into the issue. Their medical benefit beyond erectile dysfunction could be significant and could open up other avenues of research into still more suitable solutions. Research along these lines is a portal to even more cures for the lifestyle diseases that are plaguing our civilization.

Clinical trials will soon prove critical in deciding whether Viagra could be made a drug that could be prescribed as a solution for these diseases. Professor Trafford is a professional who is very persistent in this cause.

Viagra Erectile dysfunction Little Blue Pill and the Increased Risk of Melanoma and Skin Cancer

JAMA Internal Medicine published a study in 2014… the study that was done found that men who used Sildenafil (Viagra), an erection-enhancing drug, had an 84% chance of developing melanoma over a span of 10 years. Melanoma is a form of skin cancer… it is the most dangerous form there is. The study is deemed something that has been misunderstood; and there is some discrepancy within it. There are, however, some truths that are found within the study that you would want to know about.

The first of the two is that the study that was done does not, in fact, show that using Viagra would cause skin cancer. What it does show is that in a group of men those that said they used Viagra ended up having a diagnosis of melanoma more often than those men that didn’t use it. That means there was a connection between the two, but it doesn’t show that Viagra was the cause for it. The second truth is that if Viagra does in fact stimulate melanoma, the odds of it happening are small.

Dr. Hensin Tsao, a melanoma and skin cancer expert at Harvard-affiliate Massachusetts General Hospital was asked what his thoughts of the study were. His perspective on things was in essence the study in and of itself is an interesting one; it does call for more research, but men should not be worried about Viagra being the cause of melanoma just yet. While you shouldn’t be worried about Viagra causing melanoma, you should in fact be worried about melanoma.

The study initially came from laboratory research that was done… this research was looking at how Viagra signals pathways on a cell-to-cell basis. The work that was done showed that Viagra does impersonate vital parts of a process that does in fact let melanoma cells spread from one part of the body to other parts. When skin cancer spreads it very hard to control it and it can have an ending result of death.

As of now, it is unclear if men that take Viagra should worry… the relationship between Viagra and melanoma can be coincidental. What you do want is to protect your skin from too much sun and make sure to have it checked routinely so if you do have melanoma or other types of skin cancer it can be detected early on while things are treatable.

Kisspeptin the Mental Viagra Hormone Turns On Sex Drive in Older Men

A new hormone has been shown to improve the sex drive of old men. The kisspeptin hormone can be used to improve the sex drive of older men by increasing the activity in the brain specifically the part that deals with romance and sexual arousal making them more likely to initiate activities that will lead to sexual intercourse.

The research was conducted on men who had problems with their sex life. They were given a dose of the hormone and were shown images of sexual and non-sexual pictures of couples. The men’s MRI scans showed increased activity in the part of the brain that registers sexual arousal. The emotional activity was not affected by the hormone. The results led to the drug being known as mental Viagra as it stimulates the brain.

Kisspeptin can be seen as an effective treatment for psycho-sexual disorders. Since the treatment is safe, it can be used for couples that want to conceive but cannot due to low sex drive. The hormone is found in every person, and it stimulates the release of other reproductive hormones. It reduces negative moods and increases positive moods associated with romantic love. Participants in the study discovered they do not get upset as easily as they did before.

Using the hormone to treat infertility will continue being researched since the methods being used currently focus on the biological issues that prevent ladies from conceiving. The hormone is what starts the process of puberty. Low levels can cause infertility since they prevent the woman from ovulating. However, getting injected with the drug triggers ovulation in women making them have higher chances of conceiving.Using the hormone can prove to be effective in dealing with these issues since the emotions and responses that lead to reproduction are important.

Kisspeptin can be seen as the future treatment method for low sex drive.Further studies on kisspeptin are being carried out to find out if the hormone can be used to treat other conditions like depression and other psycho-sexual behaviors.

Can un-prescribed Viagra cause heart problems?

In a healthy male, un-prescribed Viagra isn’t likely to cause any cardiac issues. But in men with heart problems – particularly if they take drugs to treat those heart problems – taking un-prescribed Viagra can be disastrous. It’s been known since Viagra first entered the market that men who take nitrates and other medications for heart problems should not take Viagra because it can cause blood pressure to plummet, with the result being fainting, heart attack, or worse. In fact, a man who takes any medication (prescription or over-the-counter) regularly needs to know if and how those products interact with Viagra in order to avoid problems.

Should I take Viagra with or without food?

Viagra works best when it is taken on an empty stomach approximately an hour before sex, and it is typically effective for four to six hours. This doesn’t mean you can’t take Viagra with food, because it’s safe to do so. However, some men who have tried taking Viagra both with and without food find that when they take it with a large meal or a meal containing a lot of fat, it takes longer for the drug to be effective.

If you take Viagra and don’t think it’s working as it should, consider whether you have recently eaten heavy or fatty foods. If so, that could be responsible for the seemingly dampened effect.
